The 2022 Cropshare program is full for the season! If you would like to get on the wait list for 20 weeks of organically grown produce from your local family farm in La Grande! June 14th - October 25th 2022, please click the link at the end of the description!
"For the first time since I can remember, I'm snacking on veggies (greens included) without needing to pair them with a dip! It's a challenge to make it through prep without eating all the ingredients they provide. Evergreen's fresh produce has changed the quality of meals in our home dramatically and I can't thank them enough! My phone is filled with photos of dishes made possible by Evergreen as the food is too beautiful to not capture. Nik & Sarah's passion for organic farming and the community shows in all that they do." - Lana, La Grande
With our Cropshare, you receive a weekly box of fresh, delicious, organically grown produce. Our cropshare is similar to a traditional CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), except that instead of asking folks to pay for the whole season upfront, we offer monthly or weekly payment options. We also accept EBT cards, and WIC farm direct vouchers, as well as work trade - making it affordable for all. Read on for sign up details, and info!
How It Works:
You sign up for a share which is a commitment to the whole growing season from early June - mid October.
By becoming a member, you receive a box of fresh, organically grown, high quality produce (with optional flower add-on) either via farm pickup (Tuesday or Friday) or delivery (Tuesday or Saturday, $5 fee.)
Each box comes with a note explaining the contents, what is happening at the farm, and a recipe.
Our members also receive perks like a free pumpkin patch, a thank-you dinner, etc!
If you will be gone for more than 3 weeks, and do not wish to gift your box to a friend or family when you are gone, it probably is not the best fit!
What It Is:
By participating, you get to have a relationship with your farmers, and see where your food is grown!
You get an awesome assortment of veggies, fruits, and herbs every week that are in their peak season.
You support local business, and small farms. You eat healthy food, and try new things. You build community!
What It Isn't:
The cropshare is NOT a discount program, or a chance to pick and choose when you come grab a box :)
Contents:
We offer two sizes of box, a standard and a mini. The standard contains 6-8 items, and the mini 3-5.
The boxes rotate with the seasons:
Spring crops include: spinach, salad mix, radishes, turnips, carrots, leafy greens, sweet snap-peas, rhubarb, and more!
Fall crops include: potatoes, winter squash, carrots, leafy greens, radishes, onions, turnips, corn, apples, mint, and more!
For 2021 we are also offering our crop-share members a flower share! It includes one robust bouquet a week at pick-ups or delivery for $10 (for those not picking up produce, weekly bouquets are $12.)
Pricing:
The cost of the standard box is $26 / The mini box is $16
The flowers are $10 when added on to veggies. Pricing is based on the same prices we offer at Farmer's Market (though we often include extras!)
A lot goes in to the program from harvest, washing, packing, creating notes, shuttling the boxes, communicating with members, etc.!
For those with limited income, please read below as we try to make the boxes affordable + make a (modest) living ourselves.
Payment:
Payment can be made monthly (preferred), or weekly. Most farms using this model require participants to pay for the whole season upfront, but we REALLY value making it affordable, so we have opted not to.
We accept cash, check, and Venmo @evergreenfamilyfarm. We also GLADLY accept SNAP Cards (Oregon Trail EBT), Double Up Food Bucks (to utilize these, the bags must be picked up at Farmer's Market), and WIC farm direct vouchers.
Lastly, we have a Work-Trade Option. If you come work on the farm with us for 2.5 hours a week, that will count as your payment! Spots for this option are limited, contact us if interested.
Questions:
If you have further questions, do not hesitate to reach out over e-mail [email protected], or by phone (541) 359-5085! We will gladly answer them!
